Susmita Barua

As an Urban-regional Planning Professional and Geographer, Susmita Barua always wanted to explore places, people and cultures. She came to the US as a graduate student from Kolkata, India in 1985 and got busy with adapting to life, marriage, job and raising a daughter in a different climate, culture and environment without the support of an extended family or community around. She felt deep discontent with her auto-pilot conventional life and the discrimination at her job created a deep longing for freedom and inner peace. Susmita is an international Spiritual Workshop and Retreat Facilitator, Mindful Leader Mentor, certified Dream Builder Coach and ordained lay Dharma Teacher in the lineage of 'one who knows' (as described by Jack Kornfield to her in her Mindful Mentor training virtual Class, Oct 2024). She feels called to work with professional Women, minorities, immigrants, mindful entrepreneurs, leaders, couples and changemakers.
