LMTV: Unconditional Presence (Harry Sherwood)
If you are the kind of person who has a never-ending to-do list and you constantly find yourself busy with one thing or another, the idea of unconditional presence may be a difficult one for you to grasp. For a lot of people, the mere thought of slowing down and enjoying the current moment can bring up a lot of different feelings, including guilt and shame—which are really unconscious blaming messages from our ego-minds that are intended to keep us on the treadmill so that we can get the next task accomplished.
The problem is, if we don’t take the time to slow down and smell the roses, as they say, then sooner or later we’ll end up with some kind of break down instead. Our body becomes fatigued, exhausted, sick or diseased because we are effectively driving it into the ground. Strangely, we all seem to know this intuitively, but the knowing isn’t enough to give us pause. And so eventually, we end up on the death-bed with all of the doing behind us, and yet, as someone so astutely observed, no-one in that situation ever wished for time to get one more thing done!
But there is hope for everyone, because slowing down into a place of quiet and unconditional presence on a regular basis has many benefits for your health, sanity, and overall well-being. And that’s what we’re going to talk about in this episode of Life Mastery TV. My friend and colleague, Harry Sherwood, is back with more of his amazing, youthful wisdom on this topic, and he’s going to provide all kinds of great suggestions for creating an ongoing practice.
Here are some of the things we’ll be discussing:
* Presence
* Sovereignty
* A Holistic Being
* Connection
